Graduate Certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner
The College of Graduate & Continuing Studies (CGCS) offers an 18-credit hour certificate in the field of Family Nurse Practitioner within the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Program. This certificate will prepare students for national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
Family Nurse Practitioners provide care to patients across the lifespan. They assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose and initiate and manage treatment plans, including prescribing medications and health promotion and prevention education and interventions (AANP).
Students enrolled in the Family Nurse Practitioner certificate may need to satisfy the following pre-requisites prior to matriculating the certificate courses.
