Undeclared

Transition and Academic Success Coach/Advisor Undeclared Majors, Lisa Brucken

Students in the Undeclared major have a variety of backgrounds and interests and are capable of college-level success.  It is understood that entry as an Undeclared student will likely require more than four years to complete graduation requirements, and/or include summer classes.  The Center for Student Success will advise the undeclared majors and they are academically overseen by the College of Science and Mathematics.

Undeclared majors will work on general education requirements as well as areas of interest to move appropriately toward choosing a major.  Students will work closely with their advisors to pick appropriate courses to help fulfill their goals.

Typical First Year Courses for Undeclared Students may include:
  • English Writing and Inquiry
  • Mathematics (as determined by math placement score)
  • General Education History or Arts/Humanities
  • Lab Science
  • Economics, Psychology or Political Science
  • Courses specific to academic interests or major possibility
  • ROTC courses as appropriate
  • General Education Leadership
